REPOINTING
Cracked tiles & loose pointing are common problems with leaky roofs.
There are many benefits to roof repointing, including:
Prevents roof leaks: Repointing can help to prevent leaks by filling in any cracks or gaps in the mortar. This is important because leaks can cause damage to the roof, the structure of the building, and the possessions inside.
Extends the lifespan of the roof: Repointing can help to extend the lifespan of the roof by protecting the mortar from the elements. The sealant that is applied to the mortar will help to keep it flexible and prevent it from cracking.
Improves the appearance of the roof: Repointing can also improve the appearance of the roof by making it look new again. This is especially important if the roof is starting to show its age.
Benefits of Roof Repointing
we generally recommended roofs be repointed every 10-15 years. However, there are some signs that you may need to repoint your roof sooner
Cracks or gaps in the mortar: If you see any cracks or gaps in the mortar, it is a sign that the mortar is starting to deteriorate and needs to be replaced.
Loose or missing mortar: If you see any loose or missing mortar, it is also a sign that the mortar needs to be replaced.
Water leaks: If you have any water leaks in your roof, it is possible that the mortar is damaged and needs to be replaced.
Dampness or mould on the roof: If you notice any dampness or mould on the roof, it is a sign that the roof is not keeping water out properly. This could be due to damaged mortar.
